The Ris­ing Blog­ger is devoted to find­ing and spot­light­ing the best of the blo­gos­phere in order to help blog­gers find, enjoy, appre­ci­ate, and val­i­date the work of other bloggers.

The Ris­ing Blog­ger Post of the Day Award is bestowed upon orig­i­nal con­tent that is insight­ful, inspir­ing, news­wor­thy, edu­ca­tional, infor­ma­tive, touch­ing, cre­ative, inter­est­ing, humor­ous or …

Using the Nom­i­na­tion Form, you may nom­i­nate a spe­cific blog post pub­lished on any date or site. Feel free to nom­i­nate a post from your own site! When you receive the Ris­ing Blog­ger Award, we ask that you dis­play the badge on your site within the win­ning post or in the side­bar, and link back to The Ris­ing Blogger.

We also ask that win­ners “pay it for­ward” by nom­i­nat­ing a post to be hon­ored, thus keep­ing pos­i­tive momen­tum going and sup­port­ing your fel­low blog­gers. You may send the nom­i­na­tion infor­ma­tion to us using the nom­i­na­tion form or email the infor­ma­tion to jhsesq at theris­ing­blog­ger dot com. (Please do not announce your nom­i­na­tion on your own site in order to avoid spoil­ing the sur­prise as it may be a few days before our post bestow­ing the Post of the Day Award upon the blog­ger you nom­i­nated appears here.)

His­tory of the Ris­ing Blogger

The Ris­ing Blog­ger went live in April 2007. The brain­child of Mimi Lenox and Bud Weiser, what set the site apart from other review blogs was its com­mit­ment to spot­light­ing posts, rather than blogs.

Judd Cori­zon soon joined the ven­ture, serv­ing as the blog admin­is­tra­tor. Other con­trib­u­tors have included Lori Hahn, Dawn Drover, Epiphany Alone, Crushed By Ing­soc, Bar­bara, Mimzie, and Masgblog.

In August 2008, the founders gave the site to JHS, Esq., an attor­ney, musi­cian, and writer from “Liv­able, Lov­able Lodi,” Cal­i­for­nia, the “Zin­fan­del Cap­i­tal of the World.”
