Amreekia Min Bab Al Sharayah actually means An American from the Bab Al Sharayah neighborhood of Cairo. It’s kind of a rough neighborhood–and the people there arent exactly wealthy–but they have hearts of gold. Someone called me that because my spoken Arabic is a bit rough around the edges and full of slang–much like that found in Bab Al Sharayah. I think it’s because I watch too many Egyptian movies on the DISH! ))
