I always have a certain degree of admiration for those who bravely put their creative compositions online. Often, what amazes me, is just how much creativity is out there. The Impressionist is certainly a very emotive writer. Emotive, because you have to have had such sentiments, to convey them, even in a fictional setting. And this piece, was such a piece.
It IS a romantic piece, more romantic than the usual dreary fare, because it concerns the love of a man for a flawed woman, by most peoples eyes. But not for him. He is the strong supporter, he loves her so much, he can carry her too. A drug addict, pregnant with another man’s child.
His character emerges too, he is shy, not a ladies man, he is mesmerised by her. We can see, behind the writing, that the character portrayed is the shy boy in the corner. Yet he comes through with the heart of a real man.
But the piece mentions these facts, only to dismiss them, to focus on what is between them. We feel the connection, their own personal, private world of love and laughter. We feel a relationship beyond social judgement or stigma.
I don’t want to give too much away about this post, by quoting the ending, because I actually want you to read the whole post, but if the last paragraph DOESN’T melt your heart, then ’tis a stony heart you have.
The Impressionist creates a woman of the type any man would yearn tohold in his arms, and a hero worthy to hold her, and he does bytearing up the rules of what those images should be. The blog is Sounds of Memory and the post from April 20, 2008 (Sorry, no short cut here.) is titled One Shot. A truly great composition, demanding attention as The Rising Blogger’s Post of the Day.
