One never knows what “the blogging girl” will report next. I have been reading this gorgeous blog, written by an equally stunning woman, for well over a year now. She travels to places I never heard of and brings back gems of color and life; always heavily laden with warmth and perspective. Today’s post at My Marrakesh - which is the ongoing saga of an American family building a luxury hotel called Peacock’s Pavilion in Morocco — is called The Bishkek: and leaps of faith. Maryam spends a lot of time in airports. She writes, “The blogging girl was known to start conversation with virtual strangers. She was interested in people, you see. What had brought them to this place? Why were they there? She turned to the man in front of her, his hair clipped short, his hands in his pockets, his blue eyes missing nothing. He told her that he was in transit at the US military base nearby. In transit where?.…”
Never one to pass up a story or meet a stranger, she has the wherewithal to splatter the meat of the matter on the page wherever she goes.
Today it is about family and honor and love. How did she manage to say so much in such a small post? Well, that’s her specialty; and always with just the right amount of mystery. I like the way she passes through the world. You’ll love this post. Congratulations, Maryam. You’ve written the The Rising Blogger’s Post Of The Day.

“…to splatter the meat of the matter on the page…” is a fantastic phrase! What a wordsmith you are, Mimi!
Maryam is a wonder – a true inspiration, a woman living a fairy tale and sharing it with the rest of us. She makes me shiver…
