The Schherazade Project

by JHSEsq

Just her description of her blog on MyBlogLog intrigued us, “An exploration of what it means to be an Arab woman caught between 2 mad cultures.” Nezha is very talented as a writer and observer of the human condition. She describes herself, “I’m an Arab-Canadian grad student currently residing in Paris, France.I enjoy music, dancing, fashion, and books (fiction and non-fiction.) I also enjoy writing, drawing, travel, and cooking whenever the mood strikes.”

Her blog is called The Schherazade Project. And while she can weave prose to poetry, she also can tell the tale of a family wedding with a lot of pictures, of course. Her post of December 26, 2007 caught our eye. It seems to be an ode to a past relationship that did not work out because of the cultural differences, “The music was loud and wild and took over us completely. We danced, we laughed and we dreamed. We went back home in Robert’s car, with the windows open and our voices singing with the wind.” The post is titled Letter to a Punk. This is a terrific blog. The Rising Blogger is pleased to award Nezha our Post of the Day!

Hi Judd and everyone,
Wow, i would just like to say i am absolutely honored to have won this award. It really means a lot to me as i put so much effort into blogging and into crafting prose that people might enjoy.
I really love your site by the way, and i will definitely make sure to check out some of the blogs that have won in the past.
As for my nomination, i would like it to be for my good friend Baekho, at http://nuncfluens.wordpress.com/
and his post “the ideal of the artist”. AS you will see he is extremely talented and definitely a blogger to watch!!
Thanks again and good day to everyone!
