Cruel Virgin

by JHSEsq on December 22, 2007

One of the reasons that we changed our mind to continue to write for The Rising Blogger was that we would really miss making the effort to discover new blogs and quality posts. A woman whose handle is Enemy of the Republic authors a blog called Cruel Virgin. Posts can be funny. They can be poignant. Her posts are never dull.

In a post that is from November 23, 2007 titled Ah, the Holidays: Can You Feel the Love Tonight. Our author received a spam email asking the recipient to shop at Wal-Mart. Apparently Wal-Mart does not acknowledge gay marriages or unions with the benefits package. A national gay organization is boycotting Wal-Mart for their clearly homophobic practices. So this email she received was from basically a bigoted gay bashing group. She writes, “I couldn’t believe that I, of all people, got this email, but life is so interesting in cyberspace. Anyone who reads my blog knows that I fully support gay rights, including marriage and same sex benefit packages. I’ve devoted posts to arguing my position. In the last several months, I’ve stayed away from these issues, as I had too many personal matters to address. But reading this got me mad. I am so tired of this self-righteous hate and rage that comes under the banner of the family; I am even more disgusted when politics and religion form an unwanted relationship.” It is a powerful post written by an author of a great blog. We highly recommend this post and it is our Post of the Day!
