Everything about the blog Amit Goes Blogging is a bit unusual. Amit takes his writing very seriously and appears to have answers to life that work well for him. But he is young, only 24 and a bit tangled between the religious and social culture of his native India and the acknowledgement of a bigger world and purpose. Amit was only blogging for a short while when we heard from him. The first post we read on his blog was about him taking a blogging break. But we came back. The post of December 10, 2007 titled Sex Starved is about lust, love and an affair. And while Amit has compassion for a woman in a loveless marriage he writes, “She always feared being driven to the fate of a nymphomaniac. She watched pornographic movies to get over her frustration before she realised that this wouldn’t be a life-long cure to her bodily demands. Sin with all its horrors didn’t discourage this woman to do what she strongly desired for — a man. She could have left her husband but she did not because she loves him too. Why does glory reach for woman even in disgrace and evoke respect from us?” With a few words she has gone from sympathetic to disgrace. Amit has a lot of issues to work out. He straddles the fence. He is also a great writer and makes us think. We think about Amit and his world of contradictions. It is a fascinating read. The Rising Blogger is pleased to award Amit our Post of the Day!

Thank you so much Mr. Weiser for reviewing my blog. This is the first recognition of its kind that I have ever had. I thank Judd for bringing me this great news, that too, on a Monday morning! I thank ‘The Rising Blogger’ for this recognition. It’s sustenance enough for a lifetime of writing.
I believe that ‘unless I write it, how do I know what I think’. My effort is to bring out my struggle, my vindication, my darker side in my writings. In the bargain, I have developed love for Truth. Never thought Truth could be an engaging thing and offer a ready material for writing.
I do not know whether I am a ‘great writer’ as Mr. Weiser puts it, but I am a sensitive writer who wants to pen every shade of emotion and every ripple of meaningful thought.
