Ash in Wonderland

Today’s author, Ash Chat­field describes her­self as “Unapolo­getic Fem­i­nist, Baby-wearing, Co-sleeping, Breast­feed­ing, Sub­ver­sive, Mar­ried mom of 2, Neu­rotic, Pro-choice, Incen­di­ary prod­uct of the ME gen­er­a­tion type of Bitch. A whiny bitch, at that. I also have too many cats.” Her blog is Ash in Won­der­land. She can rant with the best of them. You may have noticed that we tend to like a great rant. How­ever, the post that struck us was about her job. It is from Octo­ber 12, 2007 and is titled Some­thing Else. And, being offered a new one. She pon­ders her future, “I have been think­ing about leav­ing this job for awhile. Not because I hate it, I don’t. But because it’s lonely here. I’m the only one left. Every­one else has high tailed it back to the cor­po­rate office in Kansas. Let’s face it, A three month old isn’t the great­est stim­u­la­tion. The only peo­ple I see all day long are the baby and the Fri­day fed-ex lady who drops my pay­check. that’s it. from the hours of 8–5 I don’t see another human. Which was con­ve­nient when I was preg­nant and prone to nap­ping under my desk like a drunk, but now? Not so much.
