The Chase is On

by JHSEsq

Bennetts is the name of today’s nominated author. The purpose of her blog is simple, “I have 9 kids from the ages of 25–2 1/2. I love my large family and Christmas is the best time of the year. Down syndrome has been a road of wonder and pride. Most people don’t remember the first time their child learns to do small things like find their nose but when you have a child with Down syndrome every little milestone is a big event. Chase is a very lucky little boy to have brothers and sisters who love him so much and who are so happy he is a part of our family.” The blog is called The Chase is On.
Not every parent with nine children would consider themselves “blessed” with a child with Down syndrome. Bennetts’ winning post is titled Chase’s School Assessment which was posted on September 9, 2007. Chase’s mom states, “They put Chase in the chair and snapped the desk to get his attention as he was more interested in the kid crying at the table next to him. They quickly showed him 4 pictures of different animals and said “Chase where is the horse” He points outside and says “side” for outside. She then says “NO where is the horse”? Chase looks at her like she was on crack and says VERY loud “SIDE”. They look at me and I said “Well, our horses are outside at our house”.…” The Rising Blogger is please to award Bennetts’ post as our Post of the Day!
