Blogrolls seem to intersect and intertwine in the fine tradition of The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon in a way that surprises even me. Recently, I happened upon Passion of the Dale¸a blog written by a Canadian gentleman who bears a striking resemblance to most of my relatives on my dad’s side. Dale is also apparently read by several of those whom I also read, so it all makes sense that we are all part of one inbred blogroll.
Dale takes on travel, he takes on the office, he takes on the mean Korean bagel lady who torments him every visit (yet…he keeps returning, which provides great insight into Dale), and he takes on his mom having a boyfriend in Jesus. Spewing caffeinated beverage at work, while reading this blog, is a great way to start the day. Dale has managed to blog since 2004 and has built quite a following. I can see why.
For the faint of heart, today’s Rising Blogger Post of the Day does contain some profanity. Dale pulls out some middle-aged crotchety for a look at his local newspaper’s highly inappropriate use of one of the Seven Words You Can’t Say On Television in the entry for October 10, 2007, Dear Prudence.

Dale deserves the nod. He’s been on my first-five-of-the-day blog reads for a year and a half.
Passion of the Dale is one the most fun reads on the blogosphere. It’s perceptive, witty, and reflective–everything that makes for a good blog.
Congratulations, Dale!
Well deserved.
