Melanie in Orygun

by JHSEsq

Melanie is a mother and wife in Portland, Oregon. Her blog is called Melanie in Orygun and is brutally honest. Some days the posts are fun and bright. On other days Melanie speaks of tougher times. She wrote a terrific post that The Rising Blogger is awarding. It is about her daughter learning to ride her bike. Her winning post is from July, 16, 2007 titled You Never Forget How. She writes, “They start again on the sidewalk in front of their house. She grips the handlebars more firmly; her posture is more upright and assured. She pumps the pedals a little more aggressively, but not so hard that Daddy can’t keep up. She doesn’t see the rock in her path, but he does; when the bike slides to the ground she is held aloft by her armpits, unscathed. She is safe.” Congratulations Melanie, you’ve written our Post of the Day!

Hey, look at that! Thanks, Judd. It is an honor indeed, and much appreciated.
