Cool, Calm and Collected

by JHSEsq on May 26, 2007

A former winner of Post of the Day wrote us that she was sorry it took her so long to “pay it forward” by nominating today’s post, but she really said that she took this responsibility very seriously. She thought the blog Cool, Calm and Collected is particularly exceptional because of just how candid, open, and honest its author Melissa Sewell is as she writes about her life. We are advised to keep a box of tissues handy before we read today’s post, because we might need them.

Melissa lost her fiancé Jim in February. While Melissa is only 19, Jim was just 21 when he was killed in Iraq. Hers is a journey of pain and sorrow, but there’s underlying hope and faith. Despite all she’s been through, she carries on. She has bad days, and not-so-bad days. I don’t think it’s possible to remain untouched after reading this wonderful young woman’s posts. The Rising Blogger is particularly honored to award Melissa Sewell our Post of the Day from May 3, 2007 and is titled Current Worries. God bless, Melissa and we wish you the wonderful and happy life that you deserve.
