Dad Gone Mad

by JHSEsq

We at The Rising Blogger see a lot of “mommy blogs.” Diapers and carpools and temperatures at midnight create a comfortable comraderie of misery and joy in the blogosphere. Today we discovered a “daddy blog” of sorts. In fact, this former sportswriter dad has gone stark raving Dad Gone Mad mad. In his post dated May 21, 2007 Open Discussion: Who Really Cares About Celebrities? we found his evaluation of our collective fascination with the rich and famous, well, scintillating. And we don’t mean Britney’s latest frock. Or lack thereof.

The public sins of celebrities and the exaggerated depravity that usually follows is explained in this self-effacing piece with a touch of humility. He writes, “If we saw in ourselves the sad, ugly, inconsistent behaviors we see in Britney and Lindsay and Paris, we’d have to confront our own weaknesses. And that’s hard. Really hard. Too hard.“
We like his honesty. And his brand of madness.

That’s why he is today’s winning Post of the Day Congratulations!

A great choice today. DGM is honest, articulate, and funny; his post was blogging at its best.
