Doctor Anonymous

by Bud Weiser

Sometimes another person’s opinions and conclusions are different from your own, yet you still find those comments both thought-provoking and interesting. So it is today with me.

Doctor Anonymous, a confessed blogoholic, wrote such a post on Tuesday April 24, 2007. An Asian-American, the author speaks of the tragedy at Virginia Tech and the face of the murderer. He compares a radio show’s anti-Asian comedy bit to Don Imus.

While I agree that Imus should not have been fired, why the author thinks this is a different situation is accurate. The fact that the radio DJ’s in question performed a tasteless and bigoted comedy bit, if reported accurately, is a certainty. It is his conclusion that I disagree with, i.e., that since Imus was fired, so should they be.

The post is a fantastic read. We are honored to award Asians: The New American Villain the Post of the Day Award. Keep us thinking and on our toes, good doctor!

Review by Bud Weiser and the opinions expressed are solely his.
