*BNR* Blog Name Removed

Peo­ple email to ask how we select our win­ning posts. Some are sug­gested to us, some our team finds. We grav­i­tate toward humor blogs, but we’ve bestowed the Post of the Day Award upon some very seri­ous posts, as well.

Today we took a ran­dom stroll into the blo­gos­phere found today’s win­ning post. A nurse named Todd writes Blog Name Removed. We have never seen so many dis­claimers or warn­ings. Todd is very funny.

Todd does not employ perma-links, so we can’t link directly to his award-winning post. It was pub­lished on April 23, 2007, so you can access it via the archive list­ing in the left sidebar.

Along with shar­ing details about his crazy day, he ends with some mus­ings includ­ing, “When you quit smok­ing, one of the things they ask you is how quickly you smoke your first cig­a­rette after wak­ing up in the morn­ing. Basi­cally, the quicker you light up in the morn­ing, the more severe your addic­tion. Now switch that around a lit­tle bit and think how quickly you hit the Inter­net after you wake up. Within an hour? 30 min­utes? I’ve been check­ing my email before I pee. I think I’m screwed.”
